TGG Market Forecast 9/19: | Still Summer, Mentally Fall šŸ‚ā˜€ļø

I would love to tell you this week has been full of crisp mornings, productive garden days and all the cozy fall things.

It has not. šŸ˜‚

It is HOT. The garden is tired. I’m tired. And at this point, I think we’re all just waiting for fall to officially show up and take over.

So this week’s TGG Market Forecast is keeping things simple. We’ll have a little bit from the garden, plenty of farm favorites in the market, and possibly the return of one baked good that feels very appropriate for a week that requires chocolate.

ā˜€ļøThis Week’s Forecast

Actual forecast:Ā Still way too hot for the second half of September.

TGG forecast:Ā Peppers, pears, a little zucchini, maybe some late-season tomatoes, farmhouse brownies and a strong desire for sweater weather.

The garden is definitely starting to slow down, but it isn’t completely finished with us yet.

🌿Fresh from the Garden

There may be a couple Taste of TGG Garden BoxesĀ available Saturday, depending on what I can pull together before market.

Right now, they’re looking very end-of-summer:

šŸŒ¶ļø PeppersšŸ„’ ZucchinišŸ PearsšŸ… Maybe a few late tomatoes

The peppers, however, apparently did not receive the memo that summer is supposed to be ending. They’re still going strong.

Quantities will be limited, especially on the garden boxes, so those will be a little bit of a ā€œsee what Saturday gives usā€ situation.

šŸ« From the TGG Kitchen

I didn’t get bakery preorders opened this week, and I’m giving myself permission to be okay with that.

But I amĀ thinking the Farmhouse BrowniesĀ need to make a comeback.

If you missed them the first time, these are our rich, fudgy gluten-free brownies made with a not-so-secret farm-kitchen ingredient: black beans.

Before you make that face, trust me. šŸ˜‚ You’d never know they’re in there.

No cookies this week.Ā The oven and I are setting some boundaries.

Brownies will be available while they last.

šŸ Around the Market

Even when the garden starts slowing down, there’s still plenty tucked onto the TGG shelves.

Look for a mix of:

šŸ“ Farmhouse preserves

šŸŽ Apple + pear favorites

šŸŒ¶ļø Pepper jellies

šŸ§‚ TGG seasonings + salts

šŸ‚ Fall simmer pots

🄚 Fresh eggs

And as we get closer to actualĀ fall weather, more seasonal things will keep sneaking their way into the market.

My brain may already be in October even if Ohio’s weather is refusing to cooperate.

šŸ‚ Ready When You Are, Fall

This is one of those in-between weeks on the farm.

Summer isn’t quite finished. Fall hasn’t quite arrived. The garden is slowing down, but still tossing us a few surprises.

And honestly? We’re rolling with it.

Come see what made it out of the garden, grab something good from the market, visit the goat FRIENDS and help us politely inform summer that its shift is over.

šŸ“See You Saturday!
